After revealing compatibility with the Pixel Watch watch before its launch, the Fast Pair quick pairing feature now seems to be focused on preparing new features for the future Pixel Tablet. The novelty was discovered in Google Play Services for Wear OS, in version 23.02.13.
Within the software code within Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2, three strings of characters appear – “fast_pair_stylus” – which signal for notifications about the battery usage of some stylus for the product.
To be more exact, the lines indicate that low battery notifications should appear to the user when the accessory charge drops – something similar to what already happens with Bluetooth headphones.
One is a standard low battery indicator. The other would be a request for the user to “consider uploading soon”. The last one should appear when the pen is about to discharge, with a description “Charge now”. Furthermore, an accessory icon was also discovered in the app, without specific details.
Apparently, this is another indication that Google may launch a pen – Pixel Pen? – tied to your future Pixel Tablet. Remember that it must be compatible with all models based on the USI (Universal Stylus Initiative) standard.
So far, there is still no official forecast for the Pixel Tablet to be launched in the global market. However, sources have already stated that Google would be made official in May 2023.
