Some Sberbank customers have begun to receive notifications that outdated versions of applications will stop working. As an alternative, they are invited to switch to the web version of online banking, install a new application on their own, or contact a bank branch.

“Your Sberbank Online application is very outdated and will stop working on January 19, 2023. You won’t be able to update it: your phone’s operating system does not support installing the new version. We recommend using the web version of Sberbank Online,” Interfax quoted a message received by one of the clients.
The bank itself clarified that this will affect only a small number of its customers – only those who have the oldest versions of the application installed. They have already received notifications on several occasions.
After the start of the Ukrainian events, Sberbank applications were removed from the Google Play and Apple App Stores. For devices running Android, the banking client can be installed from a third-party source – download it from the bank’s website or from the RuStore store. Apple iOS allows you to install applications only through official channels, but iPhone owners can contact the Sberbank branch for help – the company itself has developed the technology necessary for this.
