January 17th, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. by Matthias Brückle – Attack on Titan continues – Part 3 of the final season finally has a release date! There’s a catch next to the chilling trailer. Because if you think that this release will finally be the end of the series, we have to disappoint you.
It’s been almost a year since Attack on Titan left us speechless with the last episode “Dawn of Mankind”: The 29th episode of season 4 concluded the release of part 2 of this final season – a controversial type of publication, which had already caused displeasure among fans. They had actually thought that a season should be divided into two halves at most. But it quickly became clear that part 2 of season 4 would not bring the end of the story about the titans with it. Now there is finally a release date for part 3 of season 4 – and the whole thing has a catch that hardly anyone expected.

The bad news isn’t that Attack on Titan will continue on Crunchyroll starting March 4, 2023. Instead, fans are now frustrated that even part 3 of season 4 will be split in half again. The second half will be released sometime in 2023, also via Crunchyroll, before later becoming available on Blu-Ray and DVD as well.
How did Attack on Titan final season part 2 end?
The big cliffhanger of episode 29 “Dawn of Mankind” was that Eren, who has now been transformed into a gigantic monster, lets all the Colossus Titans march across the mainland. The concentrated navy of all nations could not stop him and his horde – so what can Mikasa, Armin, Rainer, Levi & Co. do, who follow him in an airplane? The answering of this question begins on March 4th. On top of that, some skeptics are convinced that Attack on Titan will conclude with a subsequent film. There is no official evidence for this, but the hype surrounding Attack on Titan would definitely justify a cinema release. What do you think about this idea? Would you like to watch Attack on Titan as the finale in cinemas? Or should the story also end in series format? Write us in the comments!
