According to sources Reutersthe European Commission will send Microsoft a special document, where he will present concerns about a deal with Activision Blizzard.
This “Statement of Objection” may create problems for completing the purchase of the company – Microsoft wanted to avoid receiving this document and generally shorten the process of adjusting the issue of the transaction, but these goals did not seem to be achieved.
It is expected that the European Commission will make a decision regarding the purchase of Activision Blizzard by April 11 – this date was chosen as a deadline. At the same time, Microsoft said that it continues to work with the regulator, wanting to dispel any concerns.
Earlier, the US Federal Trade Commission filed an administrative complaint regarding the transaction, and a court hearing on this matter is scheduled for August this year. However, Microsoft needs to resolve this issue before the end of the proposed merger with Activision Blizzard, which expires a month earlier.
