The rumors of an upcoming return of the “Metal Gear Solid” series continue. Voice actor Quinton Flynn, an old acquaintance, caused the latest speculation.
Even if an official confirmation from Konami is still a long way off, there have been increasing indications in recent weeks that the big comeback of the “Metal Gear Solid” series will indeed be announced in 2023.
An old acquaintance is providing new topics of conversation these days. We’re talking about Quinton Flynn, who lent his voice to the character Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and the Hack & Slay Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Underneath a video posted by Flynn, a user first hinted at the upcoming tenth anniversary of Metal Gear Rising next month.
Another user appropriately asked whether a sequel to the Hack & Slay might be in the works, eliciting a possible hint of forthcoming announcements from Flynn.
Several announcements planned?
Flynn’s succinct response was, “Stay tuned in as there are still a few things to be announced over the next few weeks.” A statement that could indicate that just as with the return of Silent Hill, Konami will also be working on Metal Gear Solid “ relies on several new projects. Thanks to Flynn’s statements, there is speculation about a possible “Metal Gear Solid Rising 2”.
In addition, rumors of a large-scale remake of the original “Metal Gear Solid” from 1998 persist in 2021. The remaster and remake experts at Bluepoint Games were brought up as a possible developer. In their New Year’s greetings to the community, they already indicated an imminent announcement.
Furthermore, in the past we have repeatedly received reports of a remake or at least a remaster of “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater” from 2004, which is said to be in development at Virtuous. Konami has not wanted to comment or even confirm the rumors about the various projects.
