One of the worst Marvel movies of all time is now available on the Disney Plus streaming service. We’re talking about Daredevil, which originally hit theaters in 2003 and starred Ben Affleck. Here we tell you everything you need to know about the film and its debut on Disney Plus.

When Daredevil (buy now €11.99) hit the cinemas 20 years ago, it was by no means a great success story like most of the current Marvel blockbusters. The exact opposite was the case: The film grossed just $179 million worldwide, which was very little even by the standards of the time. In addition, there was heavy criticism from both the trade press and fans. At Rottentomatoes, user ratings are a meager 35 percent. It is still well below the MCU film Eternals, which has had the worst rating so far, which comes to 47 percent.
Actor Ben Affleck was cast as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, but his performance in the film still weighs heavily on him to this day. In an interview with Far Out magazine last year, he revealed that Daredevil was the only film of his career that he truly regretted. Also in the Marvel film adaptation was Jennifer Garner in the role of Elektra, for which there was even a spin-off film later.
Colin Farrell appeared as Bullseye, while Michael Clarke Duncan played the villain Kingpin. Incidentally, it was directed by Mark Steven Johnson, who later made a name for himself with films such as Christopher Robin.
