PCGH regularly asks its readers about the components used in the gaming PC, today we would like to share the first findings from the current graphics card survey, which you can still participate in.
RTX 4090 very strong on the go
Although the Geforce RTX 4090 only appeared on October 12th, 2022 and is priced at the top at over 2,000 euros, it creates a remarkable market share among the enthusiasts of the PCGH Extreme Forum. 222 participants in the survey already have the Ada top model, which corresponds to a share of 17.1 percent of the 1,298 total participants. This makes the RTX 4090 the only single model that has a double-digit share. Three candidates from the last generation follow in places 2 to 4: The RX 6900 XT is the strongest AMD card in the forum, with a share of a good 7.2 percent. The high-end card of the last Nvidia generation, the RTX 3090 Ti, follows in third place with 6.6 percent. With 65 votes, the RTX 3080 10GB just manages the 5 percent mark.

The gaps in places 5 to 10 then become smaller, but it remains exciting. The currently most expensive Radeon, the RX 7900 XTX, comes to 4.4 percent. Compared to the RTX 4090, it has the disadvantage that it has only been on the market since December 13th, 2022, i.e. for a good five weeks, and was almost sold out quickly. The conglomerate of RTX 2080 (Super) and RTX 2070 Super (4.4 percent) follows in 6th place, followed by the Radeon RX 6800 XT (4.3 percent). After all, the much-criticized RTX 4080, which has been on the market since November 16, 2022, manages eighth place. After all, they bought 52 of the survey participants (4.0 percent). The top 10 is completed by the duo of Radeon RX 6750 XT and 6700 XT (3.7 percent) and the RTX 3080 Ti (3.2 percent).
What role do RX 7900 XT and RTX 4070 Ti play?
The Radeon RX 7900 XT (17 participants, 1.3 percent) and Geforce RTX 4070 Ti (19 participants, 1.5 percent) do not yet play a significant role. Here you also have to consider the late release dates (12/13/22 or 1/5/23). The Intel Arc graphics cards are also hardly represented, with the Arc A770 being the strongest (8 participants, 0.6 percent). A good 70 percent of the participants in the forum are using the RTX 40, RTX 30, RX 7000 or RX 6000. Interestingly, the RTX 40 and RTX 30 are on par at 22.5 percent each, RX 6000 has 19.7 percent, RX 7000 only 5.7 percent. The RTX 40 cards, especially the RTX 4090, have apparently convinced many PCGH users to upgrade in the last three months. The Radeons still have potential, especially since they have only been on the market for a comparatively short time and an RDNA 3 card for 800 euros is missing. The last GTX 10 series, which has to do without ray tracing units, still has a market share of almost 10 percent in the forum.
