A few months ago, Konami unveiled the future of Silent Hill. Several projects are currently being developed by different teams. Including the remake of Silent Hill 2, which is currently being developed by the creators of Bloober Team. But why did Konami actually decide to remake part 2 and thus skip the original? Producer Motoi Okamoto has now provided an answer in an interview with IGN Japan.

If we want to revive Silent Hill , we have to redefine our identity as a brand, sharpen it and differentiate it.” says Motoi Okamoto in an interview. That’s why they consulted internally at Konami, what actually is the identity of Silent Hill.
