Company Paradox announced that it is preparing to release a new expansion to the space grand strategy Stellaris. Story set First Contact Story Pack will allow you to discover primitive civilizations and observe them.
Players are waiting for three new backstories. The “Broken Chains” variant will tell about a representative of a primitive civilization who was captured by aliens and managed to capture the ship of the kidnappers with his comrades. “Reckoning” will put us before the fact of the invasion of conquerors from outer space: they managed to be thrown back, but now our civilization has advanced technologies.
The third background is called “Fear of the Dark”, and in it we have to look for the line between caution and paranoia. There has been an incident on one of our planets, and now we will have to decide whether to take risks or listen to those who fear the unknown.
The new mechanics will open up more options for interacting with civilizations that have not yet discovered FTL flight. And the technology of disguise will allow you to conduct covert reconnaissance or ambush enemies. True, this technology may also turn out to be an enemy.
First Contact will be released at the same time as the free 3.7 Canis Minor update, which includes various improvements and innovations for all players. The exact date has not been named.
