News culture “Who is the impostor?” : Squeezie looks back on the future of his hit format and his YouTube channel!

Number one on YouTube AND the French Twitch Game, Squeezie had a busy 2022. On the Google platform, Who is the impostor? cardboard. The format has a bright future ahead of it.
If you are told “for 2022, which YouTube video was the most watched in France” (not to mention films, music, content for children, etc.) what would you answer? Seven Days to survive alone on a desert island of Inoxtag? We call random people feat. Mcfly’s Squeezie Counterattack | Carlito? Amixem or Mastu perhaps? Well no. As we told you last December, it is Squeezie who comes first in this ranking thanks to episode 1 of Who is the impostor?, published in June 2022 (16 million views to date). Moreover, in the same category, two other editions rank fourth and fifth. In short, in a few months, it has become Lucas Hauchard’s new flagship format. The concept ? Simple as pie: participants must interview three people who share something in common (job, passion) except that there is a liar in the lot. Of course, Squeezie has fun adding rules or involving relatives of guests.
A format with a bright future
The content creator is having a blast, to say the least, as he recently told in a live (comments reported by Interlude). “Each time (in Qui est l’impostor – ndlr) I have a wonderful time” confides Squeezie! “Each time I laugh, each time there are unforeseen events, each time there are guys who have crazy ideas. It’s super funny”. Above all: Lucas Hauchard talks about the future of the format, which is currently at around one episode per month. “I think we will keep this average until the summer holidays” can we learn here, “because we have enough business ideas and guests to enjoy it so far”. To find out more, you will have to wait for the start of the school year:
“(After the start of the 2023 school year) We’ll see if we kill the format (Who is the impostor, editor’s note), if we revisit it, or if we continue it as it is, I don’t know” – Squeezie, in a live (via Interlude)
More accessible, more successful?
Another interesting point: with Who is the impostor?, Squeezie explains that it is easier to invite personalities who are not from the internet world (like Jonathan Cohen, in episode 01). What do we think will attract a new audience to the YouTube channel and boost audiences? Yes, last year, on Twitch, it was not the “specialized” events (ZEvent, for example) that made the biggest numbers, but the larger meetings (GP Explorer, also organized by Squeezie, and the Eleven All Stars). We therefore expect more imposters in the year 2023.
