2023 could be the last year of the PlayStation 4’s life

In 2023, PlayStation 4 celebrates its 10th birthday, probably the last console in business, since this year should mark the end of support for the old Sony console. PS4 is therefore preparing to live its last year as a co-protagonist, before retiring.

Just recently Sony released a video on PS4 and PS5 games due out in 2023 which shows how most titles will only be available on PS5in fact only a handful of productions will also be released on PS4 and among these we mention Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Hogwarta Legacy, Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Then you have to take into account that it will hit PlayStation VR2 stores next monthnot compatible in any way with the “old” PS4 and in general the flow of releases for PlayStation 4 seems to be decreasing, it is difficult to think of new publications planned for 2024, perhaps with a few rare exceptions such as the free to play games from PlayStation Studios and third-party games from smaller publishers and smaller developers.

The career of PlayStation 4 is therefore starting to endthe production of the console has been stopped for some time now and hardware sales are reduced to a flicker, software sales are resisting but the trend reversal could be very close.
