The update, which allows you to freely use Bluetooth functionality on the Google Stadia controller, is available today, so it can now be used on all compatible devices.
As you know, tomorrow Google Stadia will finally close, but it will be possible to update the controller for a long time, until December 31, 2023. Just go to this page and click on the “enable Bluetooth mode” link, then follow the instructions on the screen. Compatible devices list: PC (Windows 10, Windows 11 and Steam), MacOS 13, ChromeOS and Android. No console, at least according to official figures.
“Not all Bluetooth devices are the same, so compatibility varies. The Stadia controller uses Bluetooth low energy connections, so some features, such as audio transmission, are not possible wirelessly, ”the official website with the procedure says.
The instructions for pairing your device are simple:
“After entering Bluetooth mode on the controller, press and hold the Y + Stadia buttons for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The status indicator will blink orange. After that, go to the device you want to play on and connect the controller in the settings. Once the controller is paired and connected, its status indicator will turn solid white. The next time you turn on the controller, it should automatically connect to the last paired device.”
