The first set of missions is planned to be released before the end of this year.
As you know, the main purpose of creating Overwatch 2 was a cooperative PvE mode in which agents of the revived Overwatch organization perform story missions in various parts of the planet. It just so happened that the process of creating this cooperative mode stalled, as a result, in October last year, Overwatch 2 was released in the so-called early access – only with a network mode on board.
So far, no information has been received about the PvE mode, but today Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller clarified that the co-op will begin to appear in the game gradually – with a plan to release the first set of relevant content before the end of this year.

According to Keller, such a decision is “difficult but correct”: with this approach, Overwatch 2 fans will not only not have to wait a huge period of time before the release of a full set of PvE content, but will also be able to gradually become familiar with the game’s storyline. Which, in fairness, is currently not presented in any way and is not being served in any way – unless, of course, rare comments of characters recalling their past are considered as plot presentation.
