It seemed that talk about a possible blocking of YouTube in Russia remained far away last year, however, the founder of Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, decided to recall his 2022 and announced that this video hosting would be blocked in the country, and everyone who uses it, supposed to be punished in some way.
Obviously, Prigozhin has no authority to make such statements, but given the growing popularity of the head of Wagner in the Russian military-patriotic environment, his words reach a large audience, which reacted very tensely to such statements. The portal Ura.ru decided to sort out the situation by sending a corresponding request to the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein.
According to Khinshtein, the State Duma is hearing for the first time that YouTube is going to be blocked in Russia: nothing is known about this in the committee headed by him.
