Josh Sawyer, author of the role-playing adventure Pentiment, talked about past comparisons of his latest project with Disco Elysiumleaks and the promised Russian localization.
According to him, the first leak about the existence of Pentiment was accompanied by the claim that the game would be similar to the iconic Disco Elysium. Sawyer noted that this statement was false then and remains false now.
At the same time, he agrees with the opinions that he himself could not create a project similar to Disco Elysium. But he did not pursue such a goal. His writing is completely different from Disco Elysium, and imitation would be bad.
However, at the time of the leak, Sawyer was unable to talk about Pentiment and dispel the rumors. The developer admitted that it is unpleasant when you cannot protect yourself and your project from erroneous statements. This, he says, is one of the biggest problems with leaks and early announcements. The audience will say anything, and the game creators will have to remain silent until a certain point.
Sawyer also toldwhat is currently Obsidian Entertainment working on additional localizations of Pentiment, among which there is also the promised Russian language. But he doesn’t know yet when exactly they will be ready.
