It was the fear of the players after some insistent rumors: season 2 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 would not see the light of day in due time. We now have confirmation.

Although the Call of Duty franchise remains extremely strong, it looks like not everything is going to plan. We admitted it to you not long ago, but Modern Warfare 2’s attendance figures were down sharply, with figures having dropped significantly since the release (on Steam, at least), which would correspond to… 100,000 players less on servers.
As for Warzone 2.0, it seems that the battle royale is not that successful. Obviously, on the scale of Call of Duty, it’s much better than all of its competitors – the franchise remains a huge steamroller – but the many bugs galore and the late arrival of a second season would have had their little impact. And precisely, since we quote Season 2… well, let’s talk about it.

Season 2 was originally scheduled to arrive on February 2, 2023, but many rumors predicted a delay: it is now official. It was on Twitter that the new release date was proclaimed and it will therefore arrive on February 15, 2023two weeks later than players expected.
A bad for a good ? Certainly, since this new period will sign its share of new features: new maps, the return of ranked play or even new game modes for Modern Warfare 2, while a new (smaller) map for Warzone 2.0 and the return of Resurgence have already been confirmed. New weapons “and many more” are also on the program.
