Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Then the long-awaited letters from all future magic students from the most famous school of witchcraft and wizardry finally arrive. For some, the adventure even begins on February 7th, when the pre-release launch begins for all those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of the role-playing game. Unfortunately, owners of the last-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch will have to be patient, as these versions will be released later this year. In addition to character creation, the sorting hat is also waiting for you, which will divide you into one of the school houses – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. And don’t worry, you’ll be able to choose which house you’ll be in – even before the game is released. We’ll tell you how!
You decide which Hogwarts house you go to
When it became clear that players in Hogwarts Legacy (buy now / €53.99) would actually be divided into one of the four houses of Hogwarts, Harry Potter fans were naturally afraid that this process would be left to chance would. Fortunately, the official website of the game gave the all-clear: At the beginning of the game you will be able to decide for yourself which Hogwarts house you will be assigned to.

What difference does the choice of house make in Hogwarts Legacy?
In Hogwarts Legacy you can choose one of the four school houses. They were all named after the school’s four founders: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. In the game itself, after being assigned to a house, you will only be able to enter the common room of your own house. The other common rooms are taboo per playthrough (unless the story takes you to one of them). Accordingly, Avalanche Software has thought along with the storage system and set up four storage slots that offer space for different characters. So you can create four different runs, each with different characters and thus different Hogwarts houses and see the story from different angles.
The story itself will always end the same for each house, but according to a leak, you should get a side quest that corresponds to your house, which is closely linked to the main story and is different for each house. This will take you to different locations depending on your house. According to the leak, one of them should be the wizard prison Azkaban. You will also receive clothing in your corresponding house colors and you will also be able to make friends with your classmates from your house and take them with you on your adventures as companions.
Even before release: This is how you can now find your house for Hogwarts Legacy
If you don’t want to wait until the release of Hogwarts Legacy, you can already be divided into a Hogwarts house in order to take it over into the game later. It’s easy to do on the Wizarding World website. All you have to do is join the Harry Potter Fan Club and find out which of the four Sorting Hat houses you belong to by answering a few simple questions.
At the same time, you can also find out which individual wand you will call your own and which Patronus belongs to you (the latter will probably not be carried over into the game). Then follow the instructions on the website and link your Harry Potter Fan Club account to your Warner Bros. Games account. With the latter you can transfer the results of your house and wand to Hogwarts Legacy. Linking your Warner Bros. Games account to Hogwarts Legacy will also earn you exclusive in-game rewards. This includes a skull mask with a beak and an exclusive cloak set for your house, both of which are cosmetic content.
Log-in with an old Pottermore account: If you still have a dusty Pottermore account, you can reactivate your old data using the email you used there. Founded in 2009, Pottermore was the precursor website to the Wizarding World and even then assigned fans their houses and wands through a quiz.
