Mass Effect e Top Gun: a very particular combination, at times unique in its kind. Two entertainment blockbusters that, just think, were united by a easter egg remained hidden for more than a decade and only recently brought into the spotlight, thanks to the discovery of a fan.
The discovery took place about two days ago, when a fan of the Bioware series posted a comparative image on his Twitter profile. The offending image compared the opening sections of both franchises mentioned above, underlining them extreme similarities. The post went around the web, reaching almost half a million views, and it didn’t take long before it even caught the attention of Casey Hudson, director of the first Mass Effect trilogy.
Stupid that someone had finally managed to track down the easter egg after so long, Hudson shared the post on his profile the next day, further contributing to the spread of this interesting reference to the franchise starring Tom Cruise.
Meanwhile, the community continues to hope that the developers lift the curtain on the long-awaited new chapter of Mass Effect. Many expected substantial news on the occasion of the N7 day last October, however the speculations turned out to be wrong.
In any case, the latest sketches dedicated to Mass Effect Next bode well. Something is moving and it cannot be excluded that EA decides to announce something as early as next summer.
