Data from a survey carried out by RankMyApple reveals that Netflix leads comfortably as the favorite streaming platform among Brazilian users. However, the research also indicates a sharp growth of competitors in 2022, including platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, HBO Max and Paramount Plus.
According to information, the analysis considers the Play Store metrics between the months of January and October of last year, a period in which Netflix led in number of installations on Android with an average of 1.1 million monthly downloads corresponding to 59% of the total. , followed by Prime Video (18%) and Disney+ (13%), HBO Max (8%) and Paramount+ with just 2%.
Unlike the others, Netflix managed to maintain more than 1 million downloads between January and September, with a slight drop to 969,505 installations being registered in October. As RankMyApple explains, the difference in the number of downloads of each app may be related to the year of launch in Brazil and consolidation in the community.
In parallel to this, the study found the growth and decline rates of each app in the first ten months of 2022, with a drop being recorded in HBO Max (-36.5%), Netflix (-24%) and Paramount Plus (-17 %), while Disney Plus and Prime Video had a positive balance of 39.2% and 20.1%, respectively.
