Exactly one month after the announcement of the VALORANT Challengers Italy: Renaissance, a competition signed by Riot Games and PG Esports for the renowned competitive FPS, the teams are about to kick off the dance. The first split will begin on January 21, 2023 and will last until March: here are the participating teams.
The first phase of the Challengers Italy Renaissance, which we recall welcoming eight teams from Italy, Switzerland and Greece, will take place over the next few weeks and will be broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch every Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The official hosts will be Filippo Burresi (alias Etrurian) and Gabriele Catterin (alias Wolcat), already known to be respectively caster and tournament analyst such as PG Nats of League of Legends.
The following teams will compete for win entry to the Ascension Tournamentfirst step to access the continental league of the tactical shooter:
Dacid: already Italian champions of the Agents Series 2022 and of the Valorant Regional League: DACH in the last month, they show up with a not indifferent palmares.
Bear: one of the most successful teams in Italy with 3 League PG Nationals titles in the last two years.
Qlash: among the best-known Italian esports realities in the world, they have already won the title of best Italian team twice at the Italian Esports Awards.
Outplayed: one of the longest-lived Italian teams, always working on all the main eSports titles in Italy and internationally.
HMBLE: young Italian organization with great ambitions, ready to fight with all the teams of this first edition of Challengers Italy.
WLG: leading team on the esports scene in Greece, arrives in Italy to address the lack of a Challengers in their country. Thanks to an impressive investment, the WLG bring their champions to Italy.
GMT: Swiss organization that since its early years has achieved many important successes, already part of the VRL: CIS, which dominated in the first qualification with well-known faces of the Italian scene.
Axolotl: another young Italian reality that immediately invested in VALORANT competitions.
The competition is structured like torneo double round robin BO1, with four out of eight teams going through to the finals. The Playoffs will run on a double-elimination basis, leading up to a clash in June that will determine who enters the Ascension Tournament for a spot in the Continental League.
