Biathlete of the Swedish national team Elvira Oeberg commented on the third place in the sprint at the sixth stage of the World Cup in Antholz, Italy.
“The result is very unexpected! In the morning there was not even a thought about getting on the podium! Last week was hard – I got sick, so I had to miss the starts in Ruhpolding. I had little time to fully recover and recover. However, the last few days I felt already much better, so I decided to start today, and judging by the result, it was the right decision!
In addition to suffering a cold from the difficulties, today was also my hard acclimatization to the altitude. From the first meters I took risks – I took a high pace of passing the track, but I didn’t know if I could keep it on the last lap. Fortunately, everything went well today, I am satisfied with my performance. Let’s see what will be the next starts in Angolka.
Very happy with my prone shooting! I haven’t missed since the Hochfilzen stage – this is an incredible indicator! Last year I had some problems with shooting, so in the off-season we worked on this component and tried to improve my performance. I am glad that during the current season I managed to significantly improve the percentage of well-aimed shots. Thanks to this, I demonstrate such stability of results,” said Oeberg.
