Once again, humanity falls victim to its all-too-advanced science: due to a defect in the central computer, all the nanomachines in the human body go haywire and kill their hosts. So cyborg soldier Jake Warren, a presumed dead mass murderer of the great war, is awakened from hibernation to eradicate the threat.
The linchpin of the bloody campaign is the plasma sword that the antihero carries in his hands: the new weapon not only lets Jake carry out horizontal and vertical attacks, but can also be extensively upgraded with special chipsets. This is how you transform your blade into a broadsword, scythe or spear via a variety of button combinations and slaughter your way through never-ending hordes of opponents or Obermotz duels. So that there is no boredom once the machine plague has been eliminated, there are plenty of extras waiting to be discovered: professional gamers dare to try the unlocked hard mode or go on a high score hunt in ‘Splatter mode. In addition, all sequences invite you to enjoy them again and Fiesling Keith as a playable character to play again.
Opinion & Rating
Matthew Schmid says: Light and shadow come together Nanobreaker the handle in the hand: At the beginning the brilliant seven-minute render intro lets the muscles flex, the sparse real-time optics with the eternally gray and foggy backgrounds quickly bring disillusionment. The original ‘weapon-change-yourself’ feature has potential: With a quick press of a button you can unleash impressive combos and sweeps. If only it weren’t for the tiresomely stupid AI opponents who always look and act the same. Even with the simplest standard opponents, it takes numerous hits until an exaggerated gout of blood announces the guys’ screen death. So I can only recommend the title to frustration-resistant gamers who enjoy render films.
Boring constant slaughter with staid technology – a shame about the innovative combo system.
