Virtual assistants, touted for years as the latest in technology, are nothing more than a footnote to the productivity we derive from our smartphones. Although some examples are above the others, see the superiority of the Google Assistant in front of Alexa da Amazon, Bixby for Samsung and especially in the face of Siri and Apple.
A reality exacerbated by the lack of support for languages such as Portuguese from Portugal in some of these cases, or the fluency and disparate abilities if you choose the language of Camões.
Well then, what happens when a programmer unhappy with Apple’s Siri decides to employ the capabilities of OpenAI It’s from ChatGPT?
Siri finally becomes useful for Apple devices and HomeKit
Currently the full potential of virtual assistants can be harnessed when we use them mainly in English. This is where we have the greatest fluency in responses, capabilities for action, among other aspects.
Then yes, virtual assistants can be real life savers, or at least streamline various tasks in our daily lives.
Based on this premise, programmer Marschalko decided to take the “brain” of OpenAI, the same engine that essentially powers ChatGPT, and endow Siri with new capabilities.
Currently considering it “painfully stupid”, the programmer decided to make efforts to equate it with the wonders of ChatGPT, the subject of the moment.
Artificial Intelligence turned Siri into Apple’s “new” virtual assistant
Having debuted in 2022, ChatGPT has only recently been discovered by the general public. It did not take long, however, to explode in popularity in the face of the truly incredible abilities in its responses. It is, for all intents and purposes, a practical demonstration of what Artificial Intelligence can already do.
Based on this premise, programmer Mate Marschalko wanted to combine the capabilities of ChatGPT with Apple’s Siri voice assistant. He did it, according to himself, to turn this assistant into something really useful, smarter and more natural in the answers.
Responsiveness and fluidity of speech increased exponentially
The video and its explanation were initially published on the Reddit platform. However, the programmer detailed his procedure, explaining the various steps in which he joined the “brain” of ChatGPT to Siri’s voice. That’s how he essentially got this Apple assistant to respond almost like a human being.
Without further explanation, not least because the results captured on video are particularly illustrative, let’s see everything that Siri has finally managed to do.
Finally, as it denotes, this adaptation of Siri will not have the same safeguards against obscene or even illegal content. Although ChatGPT and its GPT-3 have some safeguards for benevolent use, unusual results can be found, operating an understatement here.
