Tesla, on the one hand due to the fall in the price of materials, on the other hand, due to the fact that it has many more (quality) rivals in the Automotive world, has taken advantage of the new year, of course, to move forward with new prices.
After all, at the beginning of 2023, the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y became much cheaper, in several regions of the globe, where we can now also include Portugal.
In a very brief way, we are talking about a price cut of more or less 10 thousand euros, with the Model 3 starting now at €44,990 (-18%), this while the Model Y can be purchased for €46,990 (-6 %).
Tesla: 10 thousand euros cheaper cars in Portugal
Therefore, excellent news for anyone who wants a Tesla, and only has eyes for these ‘3’ and ‘Y’ ranges, considered a little less premium, but still extremely desired by any enthusiast in the 100% electric world.
Where does this price drop come from? Tesla answers! (your way)
“Despite the past year’s significant challenges ranging from semiconductor shortages, energy crisis, logistics constraints and other Covid-19 related disruptions. We continued to develop and implement the bases for our growth, regionalizing production and supply chains.
We also started the transition to a more uniform distribution strategy, in order to reduce logistical and delivery peaks.”
An interesting strategy, when we supposedly have inflation choking several markets. That is, it is very likely that this price drop is a response to what is happening in the current electrical world, and not an easing of the chip crisis, or other essential components. After all, China will take advantage of the year 2023 to bet seriously on the 100% electric car world! For that very reason, Tesla has to protect itself.
