The finalist of the last two Australian Open championships, Daniil Medvedev (No. 8 ATP), completed his performances at the tournament ahead of schedule.
In the third round, the Russian tennis player lost in three sets to the American Sebastian Korda (No. 31 ATP).

Note that the current champion Rafael Nadal also left the tournament.
Korda in the 1/8 finals will meet with the tenth seed Hubert Hurkach from Poland.
