Released last year, Japanese studio From Software’s action role-playing game Elden Ring is considered by many to be one of the best games ever released. It was not without reason that it was named “Game of the Year” at the Game Awards 2022 and was able to convince in a few other categories. However, it is undeniable that technical issues on the PC can affect the gaming experience. These problems have not yet been fully resolved by the developer. However, an interesting method has now been discovered that can significantly increase performance.

The method for increasing performance was first used in a video by the account thsea4021 on YouTube and now serves as the basis for a new mod. This was recently put online by DevourerPi on the Nexus Mods platform. The mod automatically sets the CPU affinity on every game launch, which greatly improves performance. Without the mod, even mid-range systems can experience lag and performance drops in some parts of the game’s open world.

Thanks to the mod, playing Elden Ring (buy now €59.99) can lead to a much smoother and more enjoyable experience. Elden Ring is available worldwide for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One and can be purchased on Steam for €59.99. Anyone interested in the performance mod can download it for free on Nexus Mods and must own a version of the title.
