It’s official: the Marvel’s Avengers follow-up will end soon. The title of Crystal Dynamics, despite all the goodwill of the studio, has never really won over players. After several bursts of additions, the superheroes will definitely hang up their capes in the months to come.

On paper, Marvel’s Avengers was intended to be an ultra-promising game, offering the possibility of playing alone or with friends the characters of the cult super-team. As it stands, however, the title of Crystal Dynamics has never really appealed. Redundant missions and objectives, gameplay that lacks richness, ultimately quite banal story… The software relied above all on diversity rather than depth, a disappointing bias for many players.
Even so, since its release in 2020, Marvel’s Avengers has received several major updates to provide more content. With a roster of six heroes originally, the game now offers to embody twelve members of the team led by Captain America and Iron Man, in addition to new missions to do. Insufficient, however, to attract players, which is now pushing Crystal Dynamics to stop monitoring the software.

The news was already circulating last year, this time it is formalized by Crystal Dynamics. The follow-up to Marvel’s Avengers will end soon. The end of support will be preceded by a final update. Two dates to remember: March 31 is the release date of patch 2.8, while support will end on September 30 of this year.
In addition, we learn that all the items from the in-game store will be made available to players when the 2.8 update is released. Good news for players who had previously avoided checkout and newcomers, but less encouraging information for those who had purchased items from the store since no refund will be possible. Finally, Crystal Dynamics assures that single and multiplayer modes will still be available after September 30.
After two and a half years of introducing twelve of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, we will not be adding any more content or features to Marvel’s Avengers after Update 2.8 scheduled for March 31, 2023. All support will end. September 30, 2023. – Crystal Dynamics.
