The Mandalorian season 3 trailer has broken the record for most views for a Disney+ Star Wars trailer in the first 24 hours of release. In The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal plays the titled warrior Dean Djarin and the cast includes Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Omid Abtahi and Katie Sackhoff. Disney+ is slated to return after season two concludes in 2021, with Grog and Mando going their separate ways as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker recruited a Force-sensitive being. However, they are unexpectedly reunited in The Book of Boba Fett, and the trailer seems to hint at a continuation of their father-son-like relationship, along with exploration and conflict on Mandalore.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Mandalorian season 3 trailer has broken the previous record for most views in the first 24 hours of a Star Wars trailer on Disney+. The trailer for the third season scored 83.5 million views in the first day after the release. That number easily displaced the previous record holder, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which reportedly racked up around 58 million views in the same time frame.
The Mandalorian is arguably the most famous Star Wars project since the Disney acquisition, and the story of Dean, Grog, and the New Republic continues on March 1st.
