New concept art for Spider-Man: No Way Home released by storyboard artist Phil Langone reveals an alternate version of Aunt May’s death.
According to a video posted on social networks (it can be viewed at the link), the character of Marisa Tomei could become a victim of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). The tragic scene was supposed to unfold near the railroad tracks near the school of Peter Parker (Tom Holland). Following this, the superhero had to brutally deal with the villain (Langon dubbed the character in this state the Berserker Spider).
The Jon Watts film was released in December 2021 and ranked third on the list of the highest-grossing films in the US box office with a home gross of $804.8 million. The film starred Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tomei, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, as well as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Many of the actors reprized their roles from previous Spider-Man film series, allowing for the concept of the multiverse to be implemented in the film.
