01/22/2023 at 08:00 a.m. by Oliver Jäger – Under the new Evnia sub-brand, manufacturer Philips is presenting the next gaming monitor 27M2C5500W. The 27-inch comes with a 1000R curvature and delivers a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The refresh rate is 240 Hz. Euro prices are not yet known.
In October of last year it became known that Philips from the Netherlands would like to launch various new products in the current January. It was about the monitor segment, which was to be expanded with new models from the Evnia sub-brand. Philips has now introduced the next gaming monitor from this product line. It’s about the LCD mainstream model Evnia 27M2C5500W with a 27-inch VA panel, a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) and a refresh rate of 240 Hz.

The curved display is said to be striking on the 27M2C5500W gaming monitor; the curvature is indicated accordingly with 1000R. The new gaming monitor also supports AMD Freesync Premium Pro and has a low input lag. The response times are 1 ms for both GtG and MPRT, while images on the VA panel should be able to be viewed from a viewing angle of 178/178°.
The 27M2C5500W also meets the DisplayHDR 400 certification requirements at a brightness of 400 cd/m². The sRGB color space is covered by 119 percent, while the contrast ratio is 3,000:1. Thanks to the multiview feature, two connected devices can be displayed together. The LowBlue mode and flicker-free technology also help to relieve the strain on the eyes.

Two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4 video connections are available, as well as a USB hub with two quick-charge ports, a total of four USB 3.0 type A and one USB 3.0 type B. Ultimately, the gaming monitor with the dimensions 606 x 370 x 108 mm (L x H x W) and a weight of 6.25 kilograms should be tilted (-5°/20°), swiveled (+/- 30°) and around 130 mm in height can be adjusted.
Philips is still missing concrete information on availability, but the Evnia 27M2C5500W should be on the market at the end of January. The price is currently only known to be £430. The Evnia 27M2C5500W is currently listed in the PCGH price comparison, but there is still no information about the dealers who offer it.
