During the Granblue Fes 2022/2023, Cygames and Arc Systems Works announced Granblue Fantasy Versus: Risingthe new fighting game of the series destined to arrive in the course of 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
According to what was declared by the developers, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is not a simple updated version of Granblue Fantasy Versus, since it will bring with it many new features in the form of completely new wrestlers in addition to the 24 already knownadditional stages to fight in, new mechanics, modes never seen before and an updated graphics sector.
Among the most important gameplay innovations have been mentioned the Plus Skills, moves that slow down your opponent’s movement, offering new opportunities to land combos. As for game modes, Arc System Works has promised a completely new Story Mode based on a simplified version of the RPG Mode (with chapters from the first Granblue Fantasy: Versus), plus new stories based on the new characters. With the update of the technical sector, the developers have instead tried to get closer to the iconic artistic style of Granblue Fantasy.
The multiplayer sector will be enhanced by the Netcode Rollback supportil cross-play tra PS4, PS5 e PC, and a new island lobby. Between one game and another it will also be possible to dabble in Grand Bruise Legends, a container of mini-games. There are two presented: Rising Royale, a wild ride in which you have to avoid obstacles and use objects to eliminate the other contenders; Gold Brick Hoarder, in which you have to collect and accumulate a greater quantity of golden bricks than your opponents, even by stealing them from their stash and playing dirty.
