In the United States, proceedings are ongoing between Microsoft and the FTC (US Federal Trade Commission) regarding the deal of the American corporation with Activision Blizzard. A new document has been released to the public today that shows a small detail of the ongoing process.
As you know, the main opponent of the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is Sony. As the case between Microsoft and the FTC went to court, Microsoft sent a subpoena to Sony. The summons was sent on 17 January with a deadline of 20 January for a response. Sony asked for a one-week extension to respond to the subpoena until January 27, and Microsoft agreed to the request.
It is worth saying that Sony is involved in the deal as a “third party”, the trial itself takes place between Microsoft and the FTC. Sony has previously expressed concern that a deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard would make things worse for Playstation, especially if the Call of Duty series becomes an Xbox exclusive.
