Supermassive Games explained in a message the reason behind the postponement, essentially related to the need to have more time to best polish the product: “It has always been our goal to release the game in the PlayStation VR2 launch window, but it is also deeply important to us that you, the gamer, receive the most polished and terrifying experience possible when you start the Your first ride with The Dark Pictures Switchback VR. With that in mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to set a new launch date of March 16, 2023.”
