01/23/2023 at 2:15 p.m. by Sara Petzold – A buggy world quest is currently causing frustration among players on the WoW live server. The quest “Curve of the Time Cat” presents players with almost insurmountable challenges. But there is a workaround.
The fact that world quests in WoW do not work as intended is not really new. Already in WoW: Legion some tasks drove the fans crazy. Quests seem to be particularly affected by bugs where players have to jump in one way or another. Currently, this type of locomotion is also causing problems in Dragonflight and prevents us from completing the quest Warped of the Time Cat.
Phase hopping until bug fix
For the world quest Warp of the Time Cat we have to grab some climbing equipment, then use it to climb along a cliff and free little kittens from time bubbles (eight pieces in total). However, many players report getting stuck while climbing because they can only reach a few grapples with their gear before they can’t go any further.
The quest is obviously bugged because the climbing equipment regularly shows that there are more grappling hooks out of range. In order to be able to complete the quest anyway, there is a workaround (via WoWHead). Among other things, it can help to change the phase you are in. For example, join a raid or a storm group using the group search tool to end up in a different phase. This can help change the placement of the grappling hooks and get you more kittens.

The WoW developers gave in to the urge from the community and revised the thundering affix with a hotfix.
Alternatively, there was probably a brief opportunity to complete the quest in a group. To do this, you had to mount the mount of a player in your own group and then pick up the climbing equipment. The player with the mount could then fly their passenger to a rock higher up. However, the developers have now put a stop to this workaround, because according to player reports, you automatically dismount when you pick up the equipment on the mount. Try it anyway and let us know if it worked in the comments below. In the meantime, we hope that the developers will fix the bug as soon as possible and that the quest will then work as intended.
