Those of you who have followed game news over the past week are likely to be familiar with the news of mass layoffs by Microsoft due to fears of a recession in 2023. Nearly 5% of Microsoft’s total employees or around 10,000 of them are affected by this policy, including their gaming division which has grown enormously over the last few years. We’re talking about the teams from Xbox, Bethesda, to the one reportedly most affected – 343 Industries, the developer entrusted with handling the Halo series. Whether it’s good news or bad news, this team is certain to carry out their main task.
After previously sparking concern, studio head – Pierre Hintze confirmed that 343 Industries will remain the team handling the Halo and Master Chief series in the future, regardless of the mass layoffs they have suffered. Interestingly? This news itself is not fully accepted by the community as positive news. Many Halo gamers out there blame 343 Industries as the “culprit” of the increasingly weak Halo franchise, from the quality of Infinite to the process of adapting it into a film series some time ago. Moreover, 343 Industries has also been losing its top officials and important people in recent times.

Neither Xbox nor 343 Industries itself has spoken out about the next Halo project after the release of Infinite. How about you? Including gamers who want Halo to change developers or not?
