Although it has recently announced new equipment with the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, Apple is already working on the next generation of chips and respective products.
The latest news shows that, possibly in 2023, we will see the new MacBook Air and iMac powered by the new M3 processor.

Recently, Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro and Mac Mini with the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. These two devices, by the way, are available for purchase in Portugal starting today, January 24th.
But Cupertino does not stop and is already working on the next generation of processors. According to journalist Mark Gurman, from the Bloomberg news agency, Apple is in the process of developing the new MacBook Air and iMac equipped with the yet to be announced M3 processor.
Also according to the well-known journalist, the new M3 chip will be manufactured using the 3 nm process and may still be announced this year or, in a less optimistic perspective, at the beginning of next year. Consequently, the brand’s two new computers will only be revealed after the announcement of said chip.
The information disclosed so far advances that TSMC – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company – managed to improve the speed of the M3 processor by about 15%, as well as reducing energy consumption by 30%. This was all possible thanks to 3nm-based manufacturing.
More rumors suggest that Apple may also launch MacBook Pro models equipped with the M3 Pro and M3 Max processors in the first half of 2024.
Other sources also say that the Cupertino company has already started producing chips based on 3nm and that by 2026 it will be able to manufacture them in its country of origin, the United States of America.
