There is a lot of anticipation and curiosity towards Dead Space Remakethe modern remake of the first episode of the horror series Electronic Arts preparing to terrorize the players PC, PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X/S starting next January 27th.
EA Motive has put a lot of effort into reviving the iconic Dead Space original to today’s audience, remaining faithful to the 2008 title but at the same time expanding it with new content and perfecting what has already been seen in the past. In our interview with the authors of Dead Space Remake, there was also room for the disturbing Necromorfiwith the developers telling us some additional details about the AI that will move the brutal creatures that infest theUSG Ishimura.
“On the AI front we tried to stay as faithful to the original as possible. We wanted players to feel Dead Space once they pick up the controller, from shooting to movement to sound,” says the creative director Roman Campos-Oriolawho adds: “The AI is a really important element in this formula. How fast the enemies move, how dangerous they are, how resistant they are to hits… in this area we wanted to look at the classic. Clearly there are elements that we have modified, I am thinking for example of the Peeling System, thanks to which we have given players greater visibility on the type of damage inflicted on the Necromorphs”.
Despite the fidelity to the original classic, the Necromorphs enjoy some new behavioral routines, in particular as regards the new stages in zero gravitywith Isaac who this time will be able to move freely in flight unlike what happened in 2008. In these moments the enemies will move and attack differently than in the past, although however, as Campos-Oriola confirms, “basically we have kept the general characteristics unchanged of the Necromorphs, to make you say ‘I’m fighting a slasher, a reaper. It’s just like I remembered it and maybe better'”.
In the meantime, details on the PS5 DualSense features applied to Dead Space Remake have been revealed, coming from the pages of PlayStation Blog.
