Google could soon roll out the Fast Pair feature to smartphones. This handy feature could even land on wearables like styluses and the Pixel Tag. The novelty could be launched on the Galaxy S23.
Google’s Fast Pair feature uses Bluetooth LE It could debut on the Samsung Galaxy S23
Fast Pair is a Google-customized Android tool that leverages Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) connectivity. In addition to streamlining setup or pairing between devices, it also enables intuitive alerts and location tracking. New elements discovered from a decompiled application indicate that it could also arrive on smartphones and possibly on tablets as well.
Fast Pair: Faster File Transfer for Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel
Based on findings shared by 9to5Google, the code traces outline basic instructions for setting up a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, followed by a prompt where you’ll need to scan the QR code displayed on the brand new device. Although no additional lines were given, these could presumably indicate Fast Pair compatibility with Android smartphones with Bluetooth LE.
As on the Galaxy smartphone, the feature could be used only to initiate pairing once a new device has been detected. Also, you will need to download the necessary applications, such as the Samsung Smart Switch tool, to complete the data transfer from an old smartphone to a new one. Likewise, versions for other Android and Pixel smartphones might share the same process.

Samsung is set to launch its Galaxy S23 lineup on February 1, so we won’t be able to confirm until then if this feature will eventually come to current Android smartphones. Maybe it will be integrated into Android 14.
