Hogwarts Legacy promises to be a decidedly rich and full-bodied adventure. While on the one hand the absence of the Chamber of Secrets in Hogwarts Legacy may be regrettable for reasons of lore, Avalanche Software has thought of so much content that this lack will almost not be felt, giving players hours of entertainment.
Indeed, it is confirmed that the new game set in the universe of Harry Potter will offer over 100 side quests, which can be played in any order depending on the player’s preferences. During an interview with GamesRadarla narrative director Moira Squier he elaborated on the matter, confirming that our actions taken during these side activities will go to affect the main story.
“The main storyline is complex and engaging, involving a wide variety of characters and points of view, but by letting the player choose how to move through the game, we will allow them to tell their own version of this epic story”. says Squier, who goes on to confirm how the actions taken by users outside of the primary missions “manipulate the campaign according to their experiences, for example interacting with a character during a side quest will have an impact on how you interact with that character in the main story , and viceversa”.
The narrative designer adds that “the order in which the player decides to tackle these missions will have an impact on the story and the game, as it is all interconnected. It was a lot of fun making it, and it was fulfilling to see how it turned out.”
Even in our most recent test of Hogwarts Legacy, which we had the opportunity to play for an hour, we focused on the lists of missions, noting how full-bodied the overall offer of the work appears and, consequently, how important it will be to carry out these activities to see how the story will transform as the hours go by.
