A new extensive gameplay video for the samurai spin-off “Like a Dragon: Ishin” is now available. You can see, among other things, the combat system and selected mini-games that you can pursue.
After several years, Sega and the responsible developers at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios finally decided to pave the way to the West for the samurai spin-off “Like a Dragon: Ishin”.
Based on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, “Like a Dragon: Ishin” was technically overhauled for the re-release on the current platforms and was given new characters, among other things. We can look forward to various old acquaintances of the “Yakuza” series. A few weeks before the official release of the spin-off, we received a new 20-minute gameplay video.
You can see various elements of “Like a Dragon: Ishin” – including the combat system, selected mini-games or the optional side missions.
A trip to old Japan
The story of “Like a Dragon: Ishin” begins in 1860 and puts you in the Kyoto of that time. As Sakamoto Ryoma aka Kazuma Kiryu, you travel to Kyoto to clear the protagonist’s name and track down his father’s killer. Although a reunion with various well-known characters of the “Yakuza” series awaits, “Ishin” offers a self-contained storyline and is therefore also aimed at complete newcomers.
“Experience close-up combat that combines feudal-era firearms and swords as players switch between four different fighting styles: Swordsman, Marksman, Wild Dancer, and Brawler. A wide range of different weapons marks the historical transition between classic swordsmanship and modern armed warfare, as players train and improve their skills to unlock even more powerful abilities.”
