While we’ll have to wait a little longer for The Elder Scrolls VI, at least the MMORPG offshoot The Elder Scrolls Online will have supplies soon. The game’s next big add-on, Necrom, was announced last night.
Last night, ZeniMax Online Studios announced details about upcoming content for the long-running online role-playing game The Elder Scrolls Online. The big chapter update is therefore called “Necrom” and is expected for the middle of the year.
Anything released for the game in the coming months will be part of the new Shadows over Morrowind story arc. The introduction to these is even earlier, because the starting shot will be given with the dungeon DLC “Scribes of Fate”, which will be available from March 13th on PC and Mac and from March 28th on Xbox and PlayStation. Here you can expect two new dungeons for four players in PvE: the Hall of the Scribes and Bal Sunnar. Both dungeons are available in normal or veteran mode.
The full Necrom chapter is scheduled to follow on June 5th for PC and Mac and June 20th for Xbox and PlayStation. Pre-purchasers can get additional release rewards as well as immediate access to the Spurred Steed of Sadrith Mora mount; there is also a pony as a companion.
This new chapter will send you into the strange realms of Morrowind, as the eastern regions await with new adventures and dangers. Also coming is the Arcanist, a new playable class with fresh abilities and mechanics. It will then be the third new class since the game’s original release.
The two strange new areas of Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha should keep you busy with all sorts of tasks for up to 30 hours. You work for Hermaeus Mora and are tasked with investigating a mysterious threat to the secrets of the Daedra Lord.
“Shadows over Morrowind” is then finally rounded off by a further unannounced DLC, which is also scheduled to be released in 2023. If you haven’t played The Elder Scrolls Online yet, you can now get a free trial of ESO Plus for a limited time, which includes all previous chapters with the exception of High Isle.
