Redfall from Arkane Studios has been quiet for a long time. The developers, known for games like Dishonored and Prey, actually wanted to release the co-op shooter in the summer of 2022. But then the title was moved. An insider wanted to know that Arkane has internally set the date for early May. And he should be right about that: Xbox and Bethesda’s Developer_Direct announced the release on May 2, 2023.
New gameplay trailer shows island town of Redfall
With the release date, the developers have released a new gameplay video for Redfall. It’s about the location of Redfall, Massachusetts. The small island town was once the epitome of a US small town idyll – until the vampires came. They eclipsed the sun and pushed back the sea. Then they devoted themselves to the inhabitants, making them their henchmen or their food.

However, there are also people who stand in the way of the bloodsuckers. In Redfall, players can battle the vampires either alone or with up to three other teammates. It’s not just about destroying the Brood. Secrets also want to be revealed and the cause of the bloodsucker plague found. According to the developers, a major focus of the game will be on the solo experience. If the users play alone, they are not accompanied by AI cronies.
In Redfall, players can choose from a variety of different characters with unique, upgradable abilities. These smack around the island with customizable weapons that can be found navigating the vampire hordes. Redfall will be released on May 2nd, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play the title once it’s released at no additional cost.
