Developers from the Swedish studio Stunlock reported about an impressive new achievement in their vampire action with elements of MMO and survival V Rising. The game, still in early access, has sold over 3 million copies.

The named number of copies has been sold in almost eight months since the release on Steam Early Access (it took place on May 17, 2022). At the same time, the first million copies sold out in just a week, and the game crossed the two-million mark a month after the premiere. In August, the authors reported 2.5 million units sold.
In 2023 (the exact dates are not known), a major content update will be released, the release of which was postponed in order to speed up the restructuring of outdated systems. Among other things, as the creators said in December, it will bring the “most requested” feature – the construction of multi-story castles. The new mechanics will not only allow you to build multi-level buildings (now heights can only be achieved by placing them on a hill), but will also free up space on the map, “suffocating” from player buildings.

In addition, the creators will update the design of locations, add a new biome, new types of enemies, a market, a system for customizing spells using gems and a new magic school, as well as make many quality improvements.

A “massive and growing” list of upcoming changes includes easier sorting and storage of items, the inability to see through enemy walls, new ways to restore health in a coffin, a new time flow system, secret doors and passages, and much more, however, not all of these innovations will make it into first content update. The authors also warned that with the release of the patch, the game world will “restart” – old saves will stop working.

V Rising has received over 51K reviews on Steam and has an 88% rating. At launch, the action attracted 150,645 concurrent users, a personal best. By August, the audience dropped below 10 thousand people and has remained at this level since then (the only exception was the free weekend in October). The maximum for the last day was 3995 players.
The final release was expected in May, but now the release date of version 1.0 is not specified. Until January 31, the game is offered with a 20 percent discount.
