Anyone looking for uncomplicated lightgun action for the launch of PlayStation VR2 will also get their money’s worth. It has been announced that Zombieland: Headshot Fever will be released in a revamped version for Sony’s new VR headset.
As those responsible at XR Games announced, the studio will take up its VR shooter “Zombieland: Headshot Fever” again and release it in a technically improved version for PlayStation VR2.
Nothing has changed in the basic gameplay principle. Classic, no-nonsense lightgun action continues as you take on the role of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock as you take on hordes of zombies.
If you manage to land two headshots in a row, the Bullet Time 2.0 feature will slow down the action, allowing you to land combos and secure your spot on the leaderboards.
Perks, upgrade options and various references to the “Zombieland” films complete the gameplay.
This is technically required
Various technical improvements have been made to the light gun shooter for the re-release on PlayStation VR2. For example, according to the developer, the implementation for Sony’s new VR headset benefits from a brand new cel shading art style, new character models, optimized animations, improved lighting, ragdoll physics, new music, a completely redesigned progression system or a more intuitive hub.
“Experience Zombieland: Headshot Fever like never before, with 4K 90FPS gameplay, headset rumble and controller haptics so you can feel every oncoming zombie and every bullet fired.” Also promised is new gameplay content such as an additional story level, three remix levels, new Gun Range challenges, as well as additional weapons, skins and other goodies.
Apart from the hunt for the places in the leaderboards, you are offered a roguelite mode in which the players try to set the best run and achieve new best times in five levels. “Spend earned currency between levels to purchase special upgrades, perks, and weapons, or trade one of your three lives for extra time,” reads the Roguelite mode.
Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded will be released for PlayStation VR2 on February 22, 2023 to coincide with the launch of the new VR headset.
