As part of Developer_Direct, Microsoft finally showed many scenes from the new Forza Motorsport, but did not give a release date. According to an insider, this could also have a very specific reason.
Why didn’t Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios give a release date or at least a rough release timeframe when presenting Forza Motorsport at Developer_Direct last week? If negative news was suspected behind it, it could possibly be right.
At least that’s what the usually well-informed insider Jeff Grub now suggests in a statement on his YouTube channel Game Mess. Accordingly, since the Xbox-exclusive racer, at least internally, it has been moved a whole corner backwards. The developers themselves would therefore only plan the racing game a whole corner later in 2023.
Grubb goes on to say that he heard the third quarter of 2023 as a possible, internally named period. Accordingly, a release between July and September would at least be possible, but according to the insider it is also very conceivable that it could be “even later than that”. Forza Motorsport may not even appear until Christmas 2023.
The reboot of the long-standing racing franchise, which had its origins in 2005, wants to take the brand to a new level thanks to the new generation of consoles and also score points with a huge scope. You can watch the approximately seven-minute long presentation video from this week’s Developer_Direct.
Forza Motorsport is slated to release sometime in 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
