BLOG | Beyond Two Souls was a highly anticipated title for PlayStation 3 in 2013. No wonder, since we are talking about a new game from the creators of the excellent Heavy Rain and Fahrenheit. However, emotions quickly subsided after the premiere, as the title received low ratings and was criticized from all sides. I was in the vast minority of people who just really liked Beyond. I remain faithful to this game to this day.
I like her for several reasons. Apart from personal issues, because the title was released at a time when I was faced with an uninteresting life situation, I just love the amazing, intimate atmosphere of this game. It was a story, to quote myself here, about “losing, loving and surviving”. Simple as a flail, silly in places, and yet in general she defended herself, as any love can defend itself.
I come back to Beyond from time to time because it’s less than a ten-hour interactive thing. Kind of like watching an old show again. But more often than not, I come back to its fantastic soundtrack, which I consider to be one of the best soundtracks in gaming history (not the best, but very high on the list).

Listen to the first three tracks from the soundtrack aboveand you will see the whole being of Beyond Two Souls in your mind’s eye. No wonder. Lorne Balfe is responsible for the music, who is known for his monumental compositions and on his list there are a lot of projects (from games like Assassin’s Creed 3), for which he was the main composer or one of many. He often collaborates with Hans Zimmer, who needs no introduction (Dune, Blade Runner 2049, Interstellar, Inception, Batman Begins, Gladiator and many others), and it was Hans Zimmer who produced the soundtrack to Beyond Two Souls.
Whenever I return to this music, I want to reinstall the game that did not win the hearts of critics, but won the hearts of many players – as you can read in the comments, for example, under this soundtrack. For some reason, Beyond is very important to many of us. As if we had some emotional bond with this title, just as the main character was bound by a mysterious ribbon with Aiden.
