For the sixth time, Mario, Yoshi & Co. throw themselves onto various virtual game boards. In contrast to the predecessors, Nintendo has added a number of innovations to the party fun: As a solo player, you diligently collect bonus stars on mini boards or, as usual, grapple with three grumpy CPU opponents. You also carry out the varied multiplayer duels on various boards or fight for the minigame crown without playing dice.
The latter impress with their variety: Jump over hill and dale in a traditional 2D hop, for example, or get behind the wheel of a difficult-to-steer excavator. The icing on the cake is the microphone included in the game: Give the Nintendo characters direction and jump commands or shout the right solution into the microphone in the colorful quiz. Give your brave Goomba squad escape orders from the three comrades-in-arms, let Toad run through a dangerous course or count penguins in the dark and then say the correct number.
