Someone makes a mistake, but for someone it turns out to be a generous gift. After the company Wizards of the Coast decided to radically change the license to the set of rules Dungeons & Dragonscompany Paizo responded by announcing its own open source license for Pathfinder. Paizo’s twitter thanked to all Pathfinder fans for their incredible support and active participation in the Open gaming sale. The creators of Pathfinder said that they are now inundated with orders for many weeks in advance, and queues are lining up for printed products.
Within two weeks, Paizo sold out an eight-month supply of Pathfinder’s core rulebooks, and demand for starter sets is also on the rise. The new edition has already been ordered and will go on sale in April.
In the meantime, the authors of Pathfinder remind that the rules of the role-playing game exist in a variety of versions, including free ones. The thread provides lots of links to free rules, collections for beginners and everything you need for those who want to plunge into the world of the famous board game. By the way, Wizards of the Coast has already given up trying to change the terms of the license and even transferred some of its content to Creative Commons.
