Naturally, such initiatives in a country where there are much more important areas of legislative activity are perceived extremely negatively, and I am glad that Anton Gorelkin, deputy head of the Duma committee on information policy, adheres to this opinion.

He criticized the idea of ​​the Government Apparatus, saying that if implemented, it would only spur demand for prohibited content, as well as create a real expanse among pirates and creators of various video game collections. In addition, according to Gorelkin, there is no reason to believe that children, for the sake of which the above ideas are generated, will in principle use some kind of abstract list of acceptable games.

Gorelkin is convinced that the state should not engage in “excessive control of all these processes.” One thing, according to Gorelkin, however, is really needed: a transparent and understandable video game age rating system, on the basis of which parents can decide for themselves whether their underage children should buy such a video game or not.
