A new rumor claims that Diablo 4, which is scheduled to launch on June 6, may be pushed back to a later date. Diablo 4 was first officially revealed to the world at the BlizzCon 2019 event, but four years later it still hasn’t been released. More than a decade has passed since the release of Diablo 3, so fans are understandably looking forward to the release of the long-awaited Diablo 4.
Many approach Diablo 4 with some concern about what the final product will be like. Diablo Immortal was a huge financial success for Blizzard, but the game drew widespread criticism from fans for its microtransactions. Promises were made that Diablo 4 would avoid the same problems as Diablo Immortal. In the meantime, fans hoping to play the game themselves will have to wait a little longer than expected.
Horns, the Resetera user who accurately reported the launch of Hi-Fi Rush, has made several claims about other major games coming out in 2023. In a forum post, he stated that both Redfall and Starfield are in bad shape, claiming that Bethesda wants to push back Starfield’s release to Fall 2023. In the same post, he stated that Diablo 4 was also in “bad form” and that a June 6 release date for the game was “doubtful”. No evidence has been provided to support these claims, but Horns is credible.
Luckily, Diablo fans have the opportunity to play the game long before it’s released. Diablo 4’s closed beta has ended and an open beta is planned for release later this year. Even if the release of Diablo 4 is delayed, there is every chance that fans will be able to play OBT within the next six months.
Diablo 4’s release date has been pushed back several times already, so fans of the franchise could be especially upset if it gets pushed back again, as rumors suggest. However, others will want Blizzard to delay the game as many times as necessary to ensure that the release product lives up to the franchise’s lofty heritage. At the moment, official information says that Diablo 4 will be released in June, so fans should not worry about pushing the release date yet.
